How to Apply
Eligibility

Regular applicants require:
• 7 years of education and professional practice (3- or 4-year post-secondary graphic design diploma or degree and 3 or 4 years of professional practice).

Seniority applicants require:
• 7 years of education and professional practice prior to 2000 and continuous professional engagement in the field from 2000 to the present. Seniority applicants are exempt from the written test portion of the exam, except for the Rules of Professional Conduct section (as of April 26, 2008) and this section has a 75% passing mark.

Atypical applicants require:
• 9 years of education and professional practice (3 or 4-year post-secondary degree or diploma and 5 or 6 years of professional practice, or 2-year post-secondary graphic design diploma prior to Dec. 31, 2004, and 6 years of professional practice.)
• 2 references establishing the good character of the applicant, from either R.G.D.s, clients or employers.

Application Requirements

The application for the examination, which is submitted to the Exam Board for a review of the candidate’s eligibility must include:
• Completed application (Download form here)
• Record of professional experience (as requested in the application)
• Sealed official transcript(s)
• Payment for applicable fees (see in the application)
• Completed R.G.D. and industry sponsorship forms (if applying as seniority or atypical)
